License Renewal: |
||||||
| The Department of Early Education and Care, our residential licensing agent, recently reviewed the operations of Life's Choices' residential program for at-risk, pregnant and parenting teens and their children. The report commended Diane for her weekly educational and household meetings with the residents for being extremely informative about timely parenting and life skills issues and information. It was also noted that because a van has been donated to Life's Choices, the residents are able to do more community activities as a group which is enabling mom's and their children to spend more quality time at leisure and educational activities. All residents interviewed expressed satisfaction with their living experience and services that they receive at Life's Choices. Diane and I are proud that Life's Choices receive a two year renewal license ( the maximum lengthen of time given to residential programs) so that we can continue to service at-risk, pregnant and parenting teens and their children. | ||||||

Special Thanks: |
||||||
|
Thanks to all who
participated in the St. Cecilia baby shower, sponsored by Hope Ministries at
St. Cecilia's Church. Approximately $3,000 worth of diapers, wipes,
gift cards and other assorted baby items were donated. Some of
the diaper bags were filled with items that were donated and given to the
mothers on Mothers Day.
Thanks to the United Methodist Church of Wilbraham for sponsoring a community resource day. Through our participation, Life's Choices was able to recruit new volunteers, educate the community about Life's Choices' services, help one of our participants get a volunteer assignment at the Greater Springfield Senior Services Agency, through Debbie Rothchild, the manager of the Ombudsman Program, get a playroom makeover through Horizon for Homeless Children and develop a working relationship with Dress for Success. The event was fun and very productive. |
