The
mission of Lifes Choices is to engage in activities which dignify, protect, preserve
and enhance the quality of life of adolescents at-risk, and their born and unborn children
and to promote the sanctity of life. |
Life’s Choices - A Christian Youth Ministry, Inc. is an independent,
licensed, non-profit agency. This nondenominational, residential program
provides safe shelter with comprehensive programming to at-risk,
disadvantaged, pregnant and / or parenting teens with children from Hampden
County, MA. Life’s Choices accepted its first program participant on April
12th, 2002. Since then, Life’s Choices has welcomed 108 moms and 98 children.

Lifes Choices was founded by Richard and Diane Wright, formerly of Wilbraham, MA.
During the time of Dianes bout with cancer and her life saving bone marrow
transplant (from donor brother, Peter Pelland), she and her husband were inspired to help
the population of at-risk teens having children. They sold their house in Wilbraham, so as
to purchase a run down 16 room HUD home in Springfield, MA. Soon, volunteer fellow
parishioners from St. Cecilias Church in Wilbraham, gathered by Tess Cambo, began
helping with the renovations. Tim Traynor, who contributed his time, skills and resources,
was instrumental in helping Lifes Choices get the necessary local permits to open
their group home. Without the help of countless and nameless volunteers that helped with
this renovation project and continue to support Lifes Choices the
program would still simply be a dream rather than a reality.

Our crucial work of helping at-risk teens and their children is a daily challenge. Please
help us to continue our work with a donation now. Our program does not receive any state
funding.
